Course will explain how subject matter expertise can be leveraged to evaluate failure points in a process, prioritize which failures to address first and develop actions to mitigate failures. Class will develop severity, detection, and occurrence level descriptions as well as work through 2 Case Studies. Duration - 4 hours.

Goal
Understand how a Failure Modes and Effects Analysis can be used to identify, prioritize and develop corrective actions to improve process performance.

Results
Upon successful completion of the training, participants will have demonstrated the ability to:

1. Understand materials and expertise needed to conduct an FMEA.
2. Identify potential failure modes and associated effects.
3. Develop scale for ranking Severity, Occurrence and Detection scores used in an FMEA.
4. Calculate Risk Priority Numbers (RPNs) and understand their importance to the FMEA process.
5. Develop corrective actions and the newly associated RPNs.
6. Complete and use an Excel based FMEA tool provided during the workshop.
